Solves Industry Need for Complete Off-The-Shelf Portable Memory System for Harsh Environments

Savage, MN - Datakey Electronics, Inc., the pioneer in rugged, re-programmable, portable memory Keys and Tokens, continues to lead the industry with the release of a new patent-pending line of Immersion-Rated Receptacles. These Receptacles compliment Datakey Electronics’ proven data carriers, giving OEMs a 1-stop system solution.
The SR4310 Receptacles are now available in IP-65 (splash-proof), IP-67 (immersion-rated),and IP-67-EMI (immersion-rated, EMI reduction) versions. This product meets the growing need of OEMs to have a reliable, long-term available, and proven portable memory system that also offers protection in wash-down or outdoor applications where the device is exposed to dust, water, rain, chemicals, and more.
The SR4310 Series is an off-the-shelf extension of our mating Receptacle family, leveraging its field-proven technical characteristics to eliminate unnecessary technical risk. These Receptacles utilize our unique, 50,000 cycle contact system that has been proven successful for over 15-years in the harshest military, medical and industrial environments. These Receptacles are compatible with our entire line of proven SlimLine™ Memory, Extended SlimLine™ Memory and award winning Managed-Memory® Tokens, offering four industry-standard interface options and memory capacities from 1Kbit to 1GByte.
The SR4310 features a tough outer “shell” that prevents dust and water from entering the OEM’s electronics enclosure through the Receptacle opening. This industry-leading design gives the added option of providing the outer shell in a highly-conductive plastic to offer additional EMI protection.
The SR4310 Receptacles are panel-mount devices that combine over-tighten protection and a gasket for sealing. They feature “molded-in” threaded inserts to provide easy and tamper-evident installation. These Receptacles include a detent mechanism that both increases Token retention and gives users tactile confirmation when an inserted Token is physically engaged, as well as a self “wiping” action that cleans the contacts with each Token insertion and removal.
This unique, fully-engineered product carries Datakey Electronics’ proven long-term availability and support. Like the mating memory Tokens, this off-the-shelf solution allows product designers to solve unique OEM requirements while minimizing technical risk, time-to-market (TTM) and long-term support costs. Samples and production units are now available with standard lead-times.
